What's new at Tech Lizard Web Design and IT

As you can see, we've started using MailChimp for our newsletter delivery. We happen to think this service is FANTASTIC and best of all, if you don't mind that cute little monkey stamp at the bottom, it's entirely free! If you don't like the monkey (aww, come on!) the prices are the most reasonable I've been able to find online. We're going all in on this and now offer it for our customers who would like to add newsletter delivery to their services. If you know someone who wants or needs a newsletter, we'd recommend MailChimp and of course we're happy to configure and customize it. We'll even write the content for you and send it off if you'd like us to!
OK, that's all about MailChimp.
We're often ask what we've been up to, and I usually answer that we've been busy with the business but I rarely expand it. Here's what busy means:
Announcing Auto Analyzers

Near the end of August we were invited to replace the template based website for Auto Analyzers and on Monday September 15th, the new site went live. Auto Analyzers performs high tech automotive analysis utilizing not only advanced diagnostic tools but specialized, advanced training in automotive repair. It was important to express the technical nature of their business through their website. The new site was designed to compliment the company's business image by utilizing the company colors, client provided photos and we even animated their logo to add a little excitement to the site! We think we nailed it and the O'Gorman's are thrilled with the result. In addition to the website, we set up a newsletter service and redesigned their business cards.
By choosing Tech Lizard Web Design and IT, Auto Analyzers is now enjoying a customized website with automated subscriber management as well as a 75% savings in annual hosting fees! Cool, huh??

The office of Tech Lizard Web Design and IT
The floor is down, the paint is spread, the blinds are up and the gear is in! The Tech Lizard Web Design and IT (home) office is just about done! I've ordered this awesome purple slipcover to go on the "guest couch" in the office. Once that's here, and once I find my Polish Sausage bobblehead to go along with the rest of the sausage bobbles in my collection, I'd say we're just about open for business!
Here's what we have so far:
The office will be used for client meetings and for housing all of the records and inventory for the business. Not included in these photos are the work area dedicated to hardware repair and my grandmother's gorgous antique dresser which will be used for storing files and supplies. Note to self: I MUST change those drawer pulls!
Central Command Center
Gilhouse geeks get new gear
In addition to the Lizard Lounge, Aaron and I made some much needed updates to our primary hardware and work/play area. Aaron built a new system that is geared primarily toward his gaming needs. Michele found a sweet deal on a nice new HP desktop. Both are running Vista and have all of the latest and greatest features. The area formerly known as our living room has been made over to become "Command Central" so when visitors come, there is no doubt where our primary interests lie. Don't worry, it's still inviting, but it does not look like your typical living room anymore.
Coming Soon - Little Muskego Lake Association

A project in progress site that is close to our hearts - literally, the Little Muskego Lake Association website has been underway since mid-August. Even though the design and most of the functionality is complete, the "official" launch is expected for mid-October as we collect content from various members of the Association. Working with the Association has been a dream and I look forward to the long-term relationship we've agreed upon as I will continue on as their "webmistress", maintaining the site until the end of time. I'll share more about this site in October, after the "Social" I've been invited to attend to unveil the site and announce it's launch. Wish me luck on that! :)
The Rest of IT
The other stuff we can't be specific about yet
We've got another small site in the works. Progress on this site has been slowed due to the site owner being displaced by the June floods, but we're picking up momentum now. We have hot leads on at least two new sites and the IT Services side of the business has been busy as well! In August we did an on-site visit to set up a wireless network with workgroup file and printer sharing. We're scheduled to set the initial framework for a company wide QuickBooks implementation and importing existing data for a client. We did a few computer rebuilds over the summer and have more coming in.
