Defining Your Objective
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
Yeah! We have visitors! That's great news, but top search engine rankings are only part of the picture. Being found is important, don't get me wrong, but once your site has been found, is it meeting the needs of your visitors? What do you want your visitors to do? Defining the objectives of your website is key to its success.
Perhaps your objective is to identify you online, give a first impression and encourage people to visit your business. Maybe you've decided to provide customers with easy access to the information they request from you most frequently. You could use your website to showcase your products, services, events or to identify yourself as an authority on a particular topic. Maybe you want people to buy something online, or to request more information or an estimate.
Each of these are objectives and are an important thing for you to decide upon ahead of time. Studies are conducted every day on website conversion (changing a visitor to a customer) and visit depth (how many pages a visitor clicks and how long they stay). They usually come to the same conclusion: If you want visitors to do something, you have to make it easy for them to do it.
Well thought out objectives coupled with clever design are going to steer visitors down the path you've set for them. While working with Tech Lizard Web Design and IT we will discuss your objectives and we will use our experience to build a site that meets them.
